Traditional Chinese Acupressure is not Sujok Therapy
Traditional Chinese Acupressure has been practiced for more than 5,000 years. It is a therapeutic technique in which the practitioner pressures and gives micro massages with the fingers in specific points of the body. It is important to highlight that the Traditional Chinese Acupressure uses the fingers to press and micro massage the points. Nowadays, some therapies like the Korean Sujok Therapy (created by Professor Park Jae Woo in late 1980s) use plastic massage rings, plastic thumb pads, plastic massage balls, electric vibro stimulators, magnets, seeds, plastic rollers and magnetic mats. Traditional Chinese Acupressure uses the fingers and, if required, moxibustion.
Acupressure as well as Acupuncture, shares the same principles: both of them are part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine. The difference between them is that Acupressure is not an invasive therapy due to the fact that it doesn’t use needles, but the fingers.
In the human body, the energy flows through channels known as meridians which come to the organs and viscera. Along these meridians some energetic imbalance can take place, either caused by the malfunction of the channels or by the alteration of the organs and viscera related to them. The balance can be restored by working on specific points with Acupressure. These specific points are not only in the hands, the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridians are along the whole body. That is why the treatment we offer at Heal India to restore the energy involves the whole body and it takes 45 to 60 minutes, and of course, doesn’t use any plastic or magnetic utensil nor seeds nor any “Acupressure Kit”. The effect of each session lasts 7 days, for this reason, the patient comes only once a week. This is a substantial difference with modern acupressure therapies whose sessions are based on “Acupressure Kits”, take 20 minutes and the patient must attend the therapy almost every day.
Traditional Chinese Acupressure is an excellent preventive medicine.
